We install entry doors, patio and sliding doors, french doors, interior doors and security screen doors across the Bay Area - measured to the existing opening, hung square, weather-sealed, and finished so the trim looks original to the house.

Entry & Front Doors

The front door sets the first impression and does the most work: weather, security, insulation. We install fiberglass, steel and solid wood entry doors, with or without sidelights and transoms, and we handle the threshold and flashing properly so water never gets under it.

Patio & Sliding Doors

Sliding and multi-panel patio doors open a room to the yard. We replace worn rollers and racked frames, and we install new units with reinforced sills, so the panel still glides with one finger in ten years.

French Doors

Swinging french doors, in-swing or out-swing, single or double. The whole job lives in the hinges and the strike alignment - done right, both panels close with the same light push and the weatherstrip seals along the full height.

Interior Doors

Bedroom, closet, pocket and barn doors. Prehung units when the jamb is going anyway, slab replacement when the frame is sound and we can save the trim.

Security & Screen Doors

Screen doors, storm doors and security doors, sized to the opening rather than to a stock size, so the gap around the frame does not defeat the purpose.

When a Door Needs Replacing, Not Repairing

You feel air along the edge. If a lit candle flickers next to the closed door, the weatherstrip and the frame are past adjusting.

The door sticks in winter and swings in summer. Solid wood moving with humidity means the slab has absorbed moisture through an unsealed edge.

Daylight at the corners. A frame out of square cannot be fixed by planing the door.

The lock only catches if you lift the handle. The hinges have pulled or the jamb has settled - and a lock that needs persuading is not a lock.

What to Know in the Bay Area

HOA approval. Many Tri-Valley communities review exterior door colour and style before installation. We prepare the specification and colour samples as part of the job.

Permits. A straight replacement in an existing opening usually needs no permit. Widening an opening or cutting a new one does, and we handle the submittal and the inspection.

Sun and heat. West-facing doors in the inner valleys take real punishment. Fiberglass holds a finish far longer than wood on those elevations, and we will say so even when wood is what you had in mind.

Yes. Where the frame is sound we replace the slab and keep the original casing, which matters in older homes where the trim profile is no longer manufactured. Where the frame has to go, we mill the replacement casing to match the rest of the house.

A prehung door arrives already mounted in its own jamb with the hinges set - the right choice when the existing frame is out of square or rotted. A slab is just the door, hung in the frame you already have, which is cheaper and keeps the existing trim when the frame is still true.

Yes, though we will inspect the unit before installation day and tell you honestly if the hardware or the size will cause problems. We warranty our workmanship either way; the manufacturer covers the door itself.
