A kitchen remodel is a significant investment, and we want you to feel confident every step of the way. Here's how we guide you from concept to completion.

1

Design Consultation

We meet in your home to discuss your goals, cooking habits, layout preferences, and budget. We measure the space, identify structural considerations, and help you prioritize what matters most for your family and lifestyle.

60–90 minutes
2

Design & Material Selection

We develop a detailed design plan, finalize your layout, and help you select cabinets, countertops, tile, fixtures, and appliances. We provide 3D renderings so you can see your new kitchen before construction begins.

2–4 weeks
3

Ordering & Permitting

We order all materials, schedule deliveries, and pull all necessary permits. Custom cabinetry typically has a 6-14 week lead time depending on the manufacturer. We coordinate everything so materials arrive when needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Kitchen Remodel Questions Homeowners Ask

Here are the questions we hear most often before homeowners start a kitchen remodel.

It depends on the scope. A cosmetic refresh can take 1-2 weeks, a standard remodel runs 4-6 weeks, and a full custom remodel takes 6-12 weeks. The biggest timeline factor is usually cabinet lead time — custom cabinets can take 10-14 weeks to manufacture. We provide a detailed timeline during your consultation and keep you updated throughout.

During demolition and the first phase of construction, your kitchen will be unusable. We help you set up a temporary kitchen in another room — typically with a microwave, hot plate, and mini fridge — so you can prepare basic meals. Most families also plan to eat out more during construction. We work efficiently to minimize the downtime.

Cabinetry is typically the largest expense, often accounting for 30-40% of the total budget. Countertops and appliances are the next biggest costs. Labor for installation, plumbing, and electrical work is also significant. We help you balance your budget across all categories so you get the kitchen you want without overspending in one area.

Both are excellent choices. Granite is a natural stone with unique patterns and excellent heat resistance, but it needs periodic sealing. Quartz is engineered stone that's non-porous, low maintenance, and available in consistent patterns — it doesn't need sealing. For busy Bay Area families, we often recommend quartz for its durability and easy maintenance. We bring samples so you can compare in your space.

Yes. We handle all necessary permits, including electrical, plumbing, and building permits. Most kitchen remodels that involve moving plumbing, electrical, or walls require permits. We coordinate with your local building department and schedule all inspections. You don't have to deal with the city — we manage the entire permitting process.

Yes. All cabinets, countertops, appliances, and fixtures come with manufacturer warranties. Tadek Construction provides a workmanship warranty on all installation. As a licensed (CSLB #903622), bonded, and insured contractor with 25+ years of experience, we stand behind every kitchen we build.
